Bret Michaels, Loretta Lynn Paired for Remake

She's a little bit country, and he's a little bit rock and roll, but they are teaming up for a classic remake of the hit "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

Yes, Loretta Lynn will join Bret Michaels on a new recording of Michaels' song. Apparently Michaels has always admired the country star and is very excited to be working with Lynn.

"For me, growing up in a family where my father loved country music and 'Coal Miner's Daughter,' this is gonna (sic) be an awesome time," he told Rolling Stone.

How did the two start working together? Michaels explains, "I met her at Thanksgiving and it was really great. We were out at her ranch in Hurricane Mills and we sat there, me and her, and after everyone, the whole family and my crew sort of dissipated, we sat there and started writing some songs together."

"One of the ideas she had was redoing 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' and I thought it would be unbelievable for me and her to do that together," Michaels added.

The new duet will be featured on his new album, "Get Your Rock On," which will be released sometime this year.

Lynn is one of country music's biggest superstars, having gotten her start at a very young age. Her hit single "Coal Miner's Daughter" launched her high into the charts, and she has worked hard to remain active in the public realm. Lynn is currently on tour across the nation. Her last album, "Van Lear Rose" was released in 2004 and reached number two on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Michaels' new album will also feature Jimmy Buffet performing a live version of "Margaritaville." Michaels is also on the "Get Your Rock On" tour, but will wrap up the tour in August.

No official release date has been set for "Get Your Rock On."
