Britney Spears Quits 'X Factor,' In Talks for Vegas Show?

One day after Britney Spears reportedly quit "X Factor" in order to avoid firing, the singer has been rumored to be considering a headlining a show in Las Vegas.

There were conflicting reports that Spears had been fired or that she resigned from her position on "X Factor" on Thursday, but the pop princess will not return to the reality series next season.

Reports arose Friday that the 31-year-old is in "serious talks" about moving to Vegas and having a show much similar to that of Celine Dion, according to TMZ.

Moreover, the negotiations are allegedly between Spears and Caesars Group Properties over a "big, nightly show."

According to the gossip website, the group has long wanted Spears to headline a show, which the singer has "a lot of interest" in.

The move to Las Vegas would come at an interesting time for the hitmaker.

While it was not immediately official, multiple sources had confirmed Spears' departure from "X Factor," including Reuters, The Hollywood Reporter, and People magazine, among others.

On Friday, Spears officially announced her decision.

"I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season," started the singer, according to Entertainment Weekly. "I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."

One source close to Spears previously confirmed that "she wants to concentrate on her music," according to People magazine.

Meanwhile, other reports indicated that the "Lucky" singer left the show over disappointing ratings in the 2012 season, and that she was not asked to return.

Despite the rumors, a chairman at Fox defended Spears earlier this week.

"I think Britney did a really good job," said Kevin Reilly at Fox, according to The Guardian. "Maybe some people were waiting for more drastic displays of some nature that never came… [but she's] an interesting figure who's lived a unique life, and I thought she brought some of that."

Alternately, fellow "X Factor" judge LA Reid has already stated that he will not be returning to the show this year. Just two judges now remain; Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato.
