Brittany Kerr, Jason Aldean Go Public at CMT Awards Following Cheating Scandal (PHOTO)
Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr went public with their relationship at the CMT Music Awards this week one year after Aldean was caught cheating on his wife with his now-girlfriend.
The couple made their first joint appearance at the awards show in Nashville, Tenn. on Wednesday, June 4 following Aldean's highly publicized cheating scandal last year. In September 2012, photos of the "Big Green Tractor" kissing Kerr surfaced just weeks before he filed for a divorce from high school sweetheart, Jessica Ussery.
Aldean and Ussery were married for 12 years and share two daughters together. Immediately after the photos of him kissing Kerr surfaced, Aldean said that he and his wife were "okay," adding that "everything's good there," but in April 2013, the 37-year-old country music star announced his divorce.
"This is a really tough time for my entire family," Aldean said in a statement at the time. "Jessica and I have been together since we were teenagers. We've been through a lot of ups and downs over the years as we grew up together as a couple. She will always be important to me because she is the mother of my children, and I know that we will both always make our daughters our no. 1 priority."
Meanwhile, Aldean appears to have moved past the scandal with 26-year-old Kerr, who appeared on "American Idol" and is a former cheerleader for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. The couple appeared happy together, and while Aldean donned jeans and a cowboy hat, Kerr sported a tight-fitting white dress and her blonde hair perfectly coifed and swept to the side.
The couple's official outing arrives one month after Aldean met up with the aspiring model and singer at the AMC Awards in Las Vegas. Although Kerr did not join Aldean on the red carpet, she attended the awards show and spent time with Aldean afterward, according to the Daily Mail.
