Brooke Burke-Charvet Fired From 'DWTS,' Tweets A Graceful Exit

Brooke Burke-Charvet is dealing with the fallout following her shocking exit from "Dancing With the Stars" over the weekend.

The 42-year-old model co-hosted "DWTS" for seven seasons alongside Tom Bergeron, and even won the seventh season of the dancing reality show. However, Burke-Charvet was fired from the series on Friday, leaving her among the millions of stunned "DWTS" who also learned the news.

"Weird day… Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS… ME," the model/television personality posted to Twitter on Feb. 21. "@Tom_Bergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be returning to the show this season."

Although she will not be returning to ABC's hit show in its 18th season next month, Burke-Charvet remained positive and made a graceful exit.

"Thank for all the love & support," she added on Twitter on Feb. 22. "I loved my time in the ballroom & I'll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!"

One day later, Burke-Charvet reiterated to her over 2 million Twitter followers that she was "really cool" with the "DWTS" changes.

"So much chatter bout DWTS. I'm really cool everyone," she wrote. "I did my 7 seasons, had a blast! I'm ready for change. I love your loyalty. Thank you!"

"DWTS" executive producer Conrad Green initially confirmed the longtime host's firing in a statement, according to Yahoo News.

"We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season," he said. "She's been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We'd like to thank Brooke for her years of great service."

Burke-Charvet's dismissal was the latest in changes to the upcoming season of "DWTS." Earlier this month, ABC also let go of the show's longtime band leader, Harold Wheeler, and decided to replace the live backing band with pre-recorded music.

Speculation has already mounted about who will replace Burke-Charvet on "DWTS," with some rumors suggesting Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews. The next season kicks off on ABC on March 17.
