Candace Cameron Bure Talks Faith and Morality

"Dancing With the Stars" finalist Candace Cameron Bure spoke out about her faith recently while addressing her view on morality.

"I think that faith is the basis of morality. We could set our own standard but then who's to say your standard is right and that's why it always comes back to the foundation," Bure said during a Take Part Live interview. "For me that's the Word of God. Because it's God. It's not Candace's opinion, it's not your opinion and what you think is best. It's what God says. I think faith has everything to do with morality."

During her interview hosted by Megan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain, and co-hosts Jacob Soboroff and Eddie Huang, Bure agreed with Huang that people can have morals despite not having faith.

"Absolutely, of course. There are lots of good moral people out there that have no faith at all but where my concern is when we die. It's eternity that's at stake," Bure said.

Bure has spoken out about her faith in the past including at the beginning of season 18 of "Dancing With the Stars," when she said she did not want to wear skin-baring costumes because of her conservative values.

"The two most important things in my life are my faith and my family and I know that is what is going to get me through this competition," Bure said, according to US Magazine. "I'm not gonna be your sexy girl, I'm a mom of three kids so I want to look good and feel beautiful, but I will probably stay on the more modest end of costuming."

The actress also made headlines earlier this year after releasing her book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, in which she writes about being submissive in her marriage.

At the time, Bure went on HuffPost Live to explain her stance after being criticized in the media for her personal beliefs.

"The definition I'm using with the word 'submissive' is the biblical definition of that. So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength," Bure explained.

Bure joins paralympian Amy Purdy, figure skater Meryl Davis, and actor-musician James Maslow as the finalists of "Dancing With the Stars." The finals will take place next week and the season 18 champion will be crowned on Tuesday, May 20.
