Casey Anthony Breaks Her Silence, 'Obviously I Didn't Kill Caylee'

Casey Anthony broke her silence on Tuesday in an exclusive interview with CNN's Piers Morgan.

"Obviously, I didn't kill my daughter Caylee," Anthony said before referring to her late child as her "greatest accomplishment."

"If anything, there's nothing in this world l've ever been more proud of, and there's no one I loved more than my daughter," she added.

Anthony, who was acquitted in the murder of 2-year-old Caylee on July 5, 2011, is seeking a fresh start and admits that she is "ashamed in many ways of the person I was."

The 26-year-old claims that after having "gone through hell," she has grown up and is now a different person.

"I don't drink now," Casey said, adding, "I've probably had a handful of beers since I've been on probation. I've never done drugs, apart from a little bit of marijuana in my early 20s." ‬

Anthony remains on probation until later this summer after pleading guilty to writing bad checks, and is reportedly plotting to relocate to Costa Rica due to safety concerns.

"The public perception of me is bad, absolutely horrible," Anthony said. "I was a stupid kid. I've never been a 'party girl.'"

Anthony claims that she spent much of her time in jail reflecting on some of her mistakes, including lying to police about Caylee's whereabouts, and she attributes some of her mistakes to having a troubled relationship with her father, George Anthony. She accused him of molesting her as a child, which he vehemently denied.

"I didn't trust law enforcement because of my relationship with my father, who is ex-law enforcement himself," Anthony said. "I didn't give them the benefit of the doubt, which is probably why they didn't give me the benefit of the doubt."‬

While Anthony did not address reports that she is relocating to Costa Rica, sources say that she is eager to start a new life, according to Radar Online.

"Casey is counting the days until her probation ends. She has been researching countries that she could move to and Costa Rica is at the top of the list," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

"Casey wants to live in a warm tropical setting and the cost of living is extremely low in Costa Rica. She wants to put as much distance as possible from Florida. Costa Rica appeals to her because Americans are warmly embraced by the locals, and she feels this is the best place to start a new life" the insider added.

Meanwhile a petition calling for Anthony to be tried in federal court for the murder of Caylee has surfaced on change.org. The petition was created in April by a man named Robert Frank of Delray Beach, FL., and currently has over 1500 signatures.

"The vast majority of the American people firmly believe that this was a miscarriage of justice in that the jury trial failed both the interests of Caylee Marie Anthony and the American people at large," the petition states. "We respectfully request that the United States Department of Justice indict Casey Marie Anthony for the murder of her daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, and/or any and all offenses associated with that crime."
