Casey Anthony's Ex-Fiancé 'Cashing in' With His Own Tell-All Book

Casey Anthony’s ex-fiancé, Jesse Grund, is being added to the list of people looking to “cash in” from the high-profile case that captured the attention of many.

Like Anthony, Grund is reportedly working to publish his own tell-all book detailing his relationship with Casey Anthony and revealing new details about the murder of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

In a copy of a book proposal obtained by Page Six, Grund wrote according to the New York Post, “I witnessed the devastating effects of severe dysfunction.”

“I know what events in her life have molded her into the vilified Casey Anthony,” he penned.

The son of a Queens minister, Grund also purportedly knew a “deeper, darker unknown element” to Caylee’s disappearance in June 2008, which prosecutors accused Anthony of being responsible for.

Grund had been with the acquitted murderer since January 2005 until her partying got out of hand, according to his book proposal. He was present for Caylee’s birth on August 9, 2005.

Despite Anthony’s insistence that Grund was the father, a paternity test revealed otherwise. The two split in June 2006.

Grund was called to testify in court during the infamous murder trial, but did not do so before the jury because the presiding judge found his testimony irrelevant.

He was going to speak about Anthony’s discomfort with her brother Lee Anthony, whom the defense tried to portray as a cause of Casey’s erratic behavior during the months of her daughter’s disappearance.

The state, however, objected, saying that what he had to say did not go to the state of mind at the relevant point in time.

Grund has appeared on several media outlets blasting the Anthony family and the not guilty verdict reached by the jury in July.

“I was angry and shocked by the verdict,” Grund previously told Matt Lauer on NBC’s Today. “It’s obvious from the evidence that was presented that Casey was the last person to see Caylee alive and her body was dumped in the woods.”

“[The Anthonys] are not a cohesive group. That family was a carnival of dsyfunctionality. Most families in America are dysfunctional and have their problems. Theirs was worse. All it took was a defense to show a little bit of how dysfunctional they were to start poking holes in the prosecution’s case.”

“Right now, [Casey] has everything she ever wanted,” he also added. “She’s going to have money. She’s going to have people at her doorstep asking for her, wanting her. She’s going to have that partying lifestyle that she so craved.”

While Grund openly spoke of Anthony’s many problems, defense lawyers have pointed the finger back at the ex-fiancé, accusing him of exploiting the case for his own personal gain.

Jose Baez told the Post, “I found Mr. Grund to be very interested in serving himself ... prosecutors told me that Jesse was upset that he wasn’t called as a witness. He was adamant about being called in to be a bigger part of the case.”

“Jesse Grund and [his father] Richard have traveled to New York more than any other group to do interviews, and I would say the same about George and Cindy Anthony.”

“There have many witnesses trying to exploit the situation; this is nothing new. People are more concerned with making money than anything else.”

Baez and his client have just as well been accused of doing the same, however, with book deals, movie offers, and magazine shoots lining up at their door.

“She has certain rights as an individual in this country, and we will labor hard to make sure she has the abilities to exercise those rights,” Baez previously stated on Fox.

Legacy Management is currently reviewing Grund’s book proposal, according to the Post.
