Casey Anthony Case: Father Didn't Smell Human Decomposition in Car Trunk
Did Caylee Anthony's mother ever put 2-year-old Caylee in her trunk?
Casey Anthony's father was back on the witness stand Thursday and testified that he did not smell human decay in the back of 25-year-old Anthony's trunk.
At the Orlando courtroom, defense attorney Jose Baez questioned George Anthony on the gas cans that were missing from his shed and whether he smelled human decomposition when he was in the presence of Casey's car.

Anthony said he found out that Casey had taken the gas cans when the two got into argument on June 24, 2008, eight days after he last saw 2-year-old Caylee Anthony alive. He said his daughter rushed ahead of him to the car when asked about the gas cans.
"As I get toward the end of the car, right toward the passenger rear, just where the tail lights stuff is at, Casey opens up the trunk, throws the trunk open, reaches in and grabs the gas cans and said, 'Here's your f---ing (expletive) gas cans. She places them down on the ground and slams her trunk," said Anthony on the third day of trial.
Baez asked what Anthony smelled as they stood near the trunk of his daughter's car.
"You actually were close enough to smell trunk of that car ... were you not?" asked Baez.
"The only smell I had was the smell of gas cans placed on the ground," Anthony responded.
"And you did not smell any small of human decomposition on June 24 in the trunk of your daughter's car?" the defense attorney questioned.
Anthony replied that he did not.
Earlier on Thursday, Casey's then boyfriend Tony Lazzaro had also testified that the only thing he smelled from Casey's trunk was the strong odor coming from the gasoline in the can.
The defense also asked Anthony about a piece of duct tape found on a gas can. Anthony said he placed the piece of duct tape on the gas can because the cap was missing and he wanted to block the smell of gas coming from the can.
"I did place that particular one back on there because I didn't want the gas smell out in the shed.”
The duct tape found on the gas can is the same brand that was found wrapped around Caylee's skull when authorities found her remains on December 11, 2008.
Another ex-boyfriend of Casey Ricardo Morales testified Thursday that Casey seemed normal on July 15, 2008, the day Caylee Anthony was reported missing.
When Casey Anthony picked him and his friends up at the Orland International Airport after a their trip to Puerto Rick, she was smiling and happy like she usually was, Morales said.
In opening statements, Baez argued Caylee died after the toddler accidentally drowned in the family's swimming pool.
"She never was missing," the defense attorney had argued. "Caylee Anthony died on June 16, 2008 when she drowned in her family's swimming pool. You're going to hear that Caylee loved to swim and Caylee could get out of house very easily and did so on that day."
Casey Anthony is facing charges of first-degree murder. If found guilty by a 12-person jury, she could be sentenced to death.
