Chad Johnson Formally Charged for Headbutting Evelyn, Facing Jail Time
Chad Johnson has been formally charged over the Aug. 11 headbutt incident involving his now-estranged wife Evelyn Lozada.
The disgraced NFL player has been charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly assaulting Lozada, 37, during a domestic dispute. He now faces up to one year in jail, according to TMZ.com.
The "Basketball Wives" star claimed that Johnson, 34, headbutted her during a dispute over a receipt for condoms that she had found. She was left with a bloodied forehead and emotional wounds.

"It gets pretty heated," Davie Police Department Capt. Dale Engle told The Sun Sentinel. "By the time they get home here in Davie it's pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and headbutted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say, she has a good laceration on her forehead."
Police reports state that Lozada had a 3-inch laceration across her forehead, although it remains unclear whether she suffered any internal injuries. Her emotional wounds prompted her to file for divorce after just 40 days of marriage.
The battery charges follow a string of unfortunate circumstances that have occurred as a result of the headbutt claims.
Johnson, 34, lost his lucrative position with the Miami Dolphins following his arrest over Lozada's claims, and is subsequently being sued by a former employee who claims that the unemployed NFL player owes him for unpaid services.
Jacinth Preston has requested $130,000 in compensation to cover his salary, landscaping, and cleaning, among other things, all for managing services that he allegedly performed at Johnson's Florida home, according to Yahoo U.K.
Both Lozada and Johnson also face the possibility of potentially be sued for approximately $90,000 by the St. Maarten government after allegedly breaching a wedding contract.
The government of St. Maarten allegedly entered into a formal agreement with the estranged couple in which they agreed to have their wedding aired on VH1 in the U.S.
Following Lozada's divorce filing, the VH1 network recently confirmed that the estranged couple's upcoming reality TV show "Ev & Ocho" has been canceled and therefore will no longer air in September as previously scheduled.
