Chris Brown Insists He Has No Violent History With Ex-Girlfriends

Chris Brown engaged in a domestic dispute with his famous ex-girlfriend four years ago, but recently spoke up about how the situation stood out from other relationships.

Brown was placed on probation after physically assaulting ex-girlfriend and singer Rihanna in 2009. However, he insists that it was the first and last time that he has ever put his hands on a woman he was dating.

"No, not at all," Brown told The Guardian in a recent interview. "Cause you can talk with all my girls that I did mess with before, and it's never been a violent history."

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter spoke about how the domestic dispute that went public impacted him at such a young age.

"That was probably, like, one of the most troubling times in my life, because I was 18 or 19, so being able to feel the hatred from more adult people, you don't understand it at the time, because you made a mistake," he recalled to The Guardian.

After recently being forced to re-do 1000 hours of community service stemming from the incident, Brown insists that his race has something to do with the treatment he received in the legal system.

"They want me to be the example. Young black kids don't have the fairer chances," Brown told The Guardian. "You can see Lindsay Lohan in and out of court every day, you see Charlie Sheen, whoever else, do what they want to do."

While the singer has taken part in altercations with his fellow musicians like Drake and Frank Ocean, he insists that it does not reflect who he is as a person.

"There hasn't been any incident that I started since I got on probation, even with the Frank Ocean fight, the Drake situation, all those were defense modes," Brown said. "People think I just walk around as the aggressor, this mad black guy, this angry, young, troubled kid, but I'm not. I'm more and more laid-back. It's just that people know if they push a button, it'll make more news than their music. Attaching themselves to me, good or bad, will benefit them."

Brown tweeted about wanting to be a man days after posting a tirade about his community service on Twitter last August.

"..Truly happy to have my fans and life. Even wit the bs," Brown tweeted last month. "Can't make a leader.. They have to be chosen by the people. #iju love….(SIC)"

The singer went on to tweet about wanting to fulfill his community service duties.

"The community service isn't a problem anymore," Brown tweeted. "Ill do what ever duty I need too to fulfill my requirements as a man and a leader (SIC)."
