Christianity Explored Launches in the U.S.

Not long after the Alpha course started introducing newcomers to the faith across the States, another export from the U.K. is hoping to have the same impact for Christ.

Faith foundations course Christianity Explored was developed by Rico Tice, a minister at All Souls Church, Langham Place, in London, where evangelical leader John Stott is rector emeritus.

Published by The Good Book Company, the course helps people think about the big questions of life and explore the life of Jesus Christ over a seven-week journey through the Gospel of Mark.

As they learn about the identity, mission and call of Jesus, they are given the opportunity to discover the basics of Christian belief and what it means to follow Christ in the world today.

The course has become a staple in many U.K. churches and officially debuts across the U.S. this week.

The course and its accompanying website have already been given the thumbs up by Alistair Begg, senior pastor of Parkside Church in Solon, Ohio.

“Christianity Explored offers a highly effective way to help people consider the claims of Christ for themselves, and to voice their comments and questions in a context of learning and discovery," he said.

“It has energized and equipped many Christians to share their faith more effectively, and comes with study materials that are attractive, succinct and to the point.”

The course has been developed for use in a variety of settings, from large groups, to small groups, to one-on-one sessions.

The website features videos and testimonies, and also gives answers to tough questions about faith and life.

U.S. contributors to the site include Tim Keller, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan, and Kevin DeYoung, senior pastor of University Reformed Church, in East Lansing, Mich.

Popular evangelical preacher John Piper added: “I love the Christianity Explored site. [It’s] absolutely amazing.”
