City Harmonic Bass Player's Update on Battle With Leukemia
Earlier this year, The City Harmonic's original bass player Eric Fusilier was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive form of Leukemia that is fortunately treatable. Eric had a quick recovery, however a relapse soon followed around Easter. Bandmates and family members have requested for prayers through their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Eric is currently residing at his home with his wife, Laura. They are praying for a second remission, in order to get a stem-cell transplant.
Here is the latest message from Eric's father on Facebook:
"Eric remains at home with his wife, Laura. He's experiencing what survivors call "chemobrain" in which any stimulation is irritating. He sleeps twelve hours at a stretch and drowses the rest of the time. Those who know Eric at all, as the ultimate Social Animal, realize the profound impact of the chemo. I haven't been able to talk to him for ten days, though he has begun to tell Laura that he may be able to take visitors again soon."
He's halfway through a second attempt to achieve remission, the first having succeeded for a month, followed by recurrence. If he can be pushed into remission a second time, then he can receive a stem-cell transplant. He has avoided infection this time; his blood work produces all normal numbers.
