CP World Report: Barack Obama, Gambia, Pakistan Blasphemy, City Harvest Church

An elected county judge in Texas has issued an alarming warning. It's raising eyebrows: that the nation could descend into civil war if President Barack Obama is re-elected. County judge Tom Head is now calling for a trained, well-equipped force to battle UN troops he says Obama would bring in. The judge was referring to unexplained "executive orders" and other documents that Obama has filed. Head believes that Obama will attempt to give the sovereignty of the United States away to the United Nations…resulting in civil war.

Gambian president Yahya Jammeh says all 44 people on death row will be executed by mid-September. The last time an inmate was executed in the tiny West African nation was 30 years ago. The motivation for the decision--which has sparked condemnation from Human Rights groups globally—is unclear. Gambia imposes capital punishment for various crimes, including murder and treason, the latter commonly used to stifle dissent in some African nations.

A 19th-century painting was ruined after an elderly Spanish woman tried to restore it without permission. Authorities hope to undo the damage caused by the well-intentioned woman on the 120-year-old painting. The painting depicted Christ crowned with thorns and has graced the walls of a Madrid Church. But over the last 18 months, it started to flake. A woman in her 80s was so upset, she took it upon herself to restore the artwork to its former glory, but with devastating results. Now the original face has been almost completely painted over with amateur brushstrokes, and reports say….it looks like an ape, rather than the son of God.
