CP World Report: Egypt Runoff Election, Syria, Organ Transplants

The presidential candidate for Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammed Morsi is seeking to expand his support base, vowing to ensure the full rights of Christians and women if he is elected. Morsi will be in a run-off vote next month against Ahmed Shafiq, a former air force commander and Mubarak's last prime minister. Morsi says he plans to appoint Christians as presidential advisers and name one as vice president "if possible," and said he would not impose an Islamic dress code in public for women.

The massacre that took place in Syria over the weekend has precipitated many re-actions around the world. The U.S. has joined Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Britain, & Australia in expelling all Syrian diplomats. Canada says "These Syrian representatives are not welcome in our countries while
Meanwhile, the massacre of one hundred and eight people, including forty-nine children has strengthened the fears that the violence in Syria could spread beyond its borders. Syrian rebels kidnapped eleven Lebanese Shias and a Syrian driver in northern Syria last week, fueling fears that Lebanon is getting drawn into the chaos next door.

Organ transplants have taken a prominent role in the news recently. Some religions frown on the procedures but one family in the southern U.S. did what they knew was right. Before they buried their baby boy they paid it forward. And as Debbie Denmon shows us, that child's legacy will live on with many others.
