CP World Report: Mexico Earthquake, France Shooting Suspect, Coptic Pope Funeral, Ashton Kutcher
A strong 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Mexico yesterday, shaking central and southern parts of the country. It sent a pedestrian bridge crashing on top of a transit bus and swayed high rises in Mexico City. At least one building in the capital appeared on the verge of collapse. No reports of injuries.
Two Policemen were injured in an exchange of gunfire during a raid of a house in France; while they continued to negotiate with the alleged gunman who shot three children and a rabbi dead at a Jewish school. The 24 year old is a French National, who said he is a member of Al Qaeda and described as a cold, cruel killer who filmed his carnage. Video Surveillance tapes showed him recording his murders with a small video camera attached to his neck. The tragic killings at the school and the killing of three soldiers last week stunned France leaving it at the highest threat level. President Nicolas Sarkozy and other leading candidates suspended campaigning for next month's presidential election.
Christians United for Israel just wrapped up its 2012 conference in Jerusalem. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke. He said Israel is the only country in the Middle East where Christians can practice their faith with complete freedom. He said the reasons were common values rooted in a biblical heritage and ideas which ensure that minorities, including Arabs and women, always have their civil rights. Netanyahu also mentioned a dramatic transformation in the relationship between Christians and Jews.

Huge crowds of Coptic Christians gathered in the Egyptian capital for the funeral of Pope Shenouda the third. He passed away Saturday at age 88. As leader of Egypt's Coptic Church for four decades, he played a unique role in an increasingly troubled region. About nine percent of Egypt's population is made up of Coptic Christians, the biggest Christian community in the Middle East.

Pew found that 63 percent of all teens exchange text messages every day with friends and parents. And the average teen sends about 60 texts per day.

Well, guess what actor is going into space? Actor Ashton Kutcher . And no, you're not being punked. It's for real. The tech savvy "Two and a Half Men" star has reserved a 200 thousand dollar seat on a Virgin Galactic spacecraft. It's not clear when Ashton the astronaut will take flight, the space crafts are still in test mode. When the aircrafts are cleared for take off, they will fly about 60 miles above the earth's surface.

Disgraced former hockey coach Graham James has been sentenced to two years in jail in a federal penitentiary. He was sentenced in Winnipeg court for repeatedly molesting two of his young players: Former NHL star Theo Fleury and his cousin Todd Holt. Graham pleaded guilty in December to sexually abusing them when they played for him in the Western Hockey League in the 80's and 90's. The Crown requested six years in prison, while James's lawyer wanted a conditional sentence of up to 18 months with no jail time. This isn't the first time James has been jailed. He previously did time for sexually assaulting former NHL player Sheldon Kennedy and two other young players.
