A Korean Air 777 airliner with 149 people on board – headed for Seoul – was forced to make an emergency landing at a military airbase on Vancouver Island after the airline received its second bomb threat in two days. The passengers and crew members all had to stay overnight for a safety inspection on the plane. The investigation continues.
Syrian forces pounded cities across the nation as the deadline for a troop withdrawal passed yesterday, dashing the hopes of success for a United Nations-backed peace plan. At least 62 people were killed and the death toll continued with a surge in violence in recent days. U-S ambassador to the United Nations –Susan Rice--says she is not particularly optimistic …. about a diplomatic solution in Syria.

Anders Behring Breivik – accused of killing 77 people in a bombing and shooting rampage in Norway last summer was sane at the time of the alleged crimes. That's according to two court-appointed experts in psychiatry who released their report, which also indicates Breivik poses a high risk for repeated violent actions. He was charged with committing acts of terror and voluntary homicide. Some have called him a right-wing Christian extremist. A 15-hundred-page manifesto attributed to him was posted on the Internet. It was critical of Muslim immigration and European liberalism, including Norway's Labour Party. Breveik called the killings self defense to save Norway from Multiculturalism.
After returning from cancer treatment in Cuba last week, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez went on national television, wept, and begged Jesus Christ to save him from death so that he can continue to serve his country. The exact nature and severity of Chavez's cancer has not been made public, but only that he had a tumor removed from his pelvis last year and has been undergoing radio-therapy. A big question mark remains over the 57 year olds presidency, given speculations about his health.
A Tunisian court sentenced two young men to seven years in jail for posting cartoons of Muhammad on Facebook. The incident has revived debate over whether the country's new post-revolutionary government—elected in October following the Arab Spring protests--can maintain its promises of freedom of speech and secular objectivity. The sentencing of the two men was decided on March 28 but came to light last Thursday through Tunisian blogs.
Former president George W. Bush took aim at President Obama's push for the rich to pay more taxes. Bush referred to the so-called Buffett Rule during a speech at an economic tax forum in New York. The Buffett Rule is a tax plan proposed by President Barack Obama that would apply to individuals earning more than 1-million dollars per year…..

TAG: Israel won't be at the talks but already Defense Minister Ehud Barak is laying out his country's position. Iran still insists its program is for peaceful scientific and research purposes. Watson has been criticized by some fans for using Twitter to spread the Word, but he responds by saying, even though there are people who want to put down Christians, he responds by telling them quote: Jesus loves you. At the beginning of this week Bubba had almost half a million followers on Twitter, a number expected to grow because of his Masters triumph.
