Schools in Newtown, Conn., have begun to re-open – except, of course, Sandy Hook Elementary-- which remains an active crime scene. For returning students and their families, it's back to a productive routine, but the pain still lingers.
Meanwhile, some people have suggested that teachers carry guns to thwart a dangerous intruder. That may not be so far-fetched.
The popular U.S. reality TV show "American Guns" has been canceled. The Discovery Channel show, features a family of gun makers. FOX NEWS confirmed that a Discovery representative said that the series will not be producing any new episodes, despite a 50 percent bump in ratings in its second season premiere.

According to a theologian the killings that took place in Newtown, Conn., serve as a warning to everyone. John Piper of Bethlehem Baptist Church says that warning is to show how much everyone is in need for a Savior. The best-selling author of Don't Waste Your Life, looked to the Bible to reflect on murder. Murdering a human being, he said, is an assault on God, as humans are made in His image.
The Micah Challenge has initiated a 9-part DVD series to challenge church leaders around the globe to be the living embodiment of the gospel by encouraging Christians to rethink their approach regarding justice and the poor. The DVD series, "The Jesus Agenda," was created to inspire Christians around the world to become engaged in the teaching of Jesus Christ to help fight injustice and poverty.
A major evangelical organization will soon be posting a Nativity-centered Christmas advertisement for Times Square based on the upcoming mini-series "The Bible." The World Evangelical Alliance will begin running ads later this week regarding the miniseries and will continue to do so until March of next year when the series begins. Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe, CEO and Secretary General for the W–E-A told our partner, The Christian Post, that the ads were meant to redirect people's attention to the real meaning of Christmas.
