Tensions are heating up in Syria where full scale civil war is feared as protestors strengthen their resolve in opposing the Assad regime . 27-hundred civilians have been killed in the last 6 months, along with 800 police and security personnel. Exiles to Istanbul, Turkey have now formed a Syrian National Council dedicated to overthrowing Bashar al-Assad.

Three former employees of World Vision in the U.S., who were fired in 2007 over the requirement that they be Christians, took their case to the Supreme Court, and now lost their battle. The US Supreme Court refrained from ruling and allowed the lower court ruling to stand, in effect allowing World Vision to hire and fire based on religious beliefs. The organization employs 30,000 people worldwide .The lower court had decided that World Vision was a non-profit, religious organization and so was exempted from laws against religious discrimination.

The Conservative Government of Canada has introduced legislation to scrap direct taxpayer subsidies for federal political parties. The move will be implemented over three years, to save nearly $30-million annually for the federal treasury. Conservatives are saying….the bill will bring greater political integrity to the system and treat taxpayers’ dollars with greater care. While opposition parties argue….. Harper is trying to cripple Conservative party rivals.

Its aim is to show the challenges and techniques of Church planting in countries where persecution is rife . “Pioneers” begins its first video series with Indonesia .

Male circumcision will stay legal in California. Governor Jerry Brown signed a new state law allow the religious--- and now medical--- practice, dating back to the time of Abraham in the Old Testament . Circumcision was under attack in San Francisco and Santa Monica, which sought to ban it. They claimed it was a human rights issue. But Governor Brown’s signature puts the end to those seeking to ban it. California’s Jewish and Muslim communities celebrated Brown’s decision.

Stone crab season in Florida starts next week. And Everglades City is the Stone Crab capital of that state, shipping claws worldwide. It And as you’ll see in this report, success has been attributed to dedication, hard work and lots of prayer….. ….. TRT 1:15 out: the captain and the crew."
