CP World Report: Youcef Nadarkhani, Stem Cell Research, Apple's Lawsuit, New York Knicks

The imprisonment of Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has been condemned by a Human Rights envoy at the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva. The American Center for Law and Justice was present and reported that a new list on Nadarkhani's charges was pulled out by an Iranian Representative. NadarkhanI was initially charged for apostasy, then Fars News Agency said it was rape, extortion and Zionism; now it's offending islam by preaching Christianity. The shifts keep on happening as the Iranian regime attempts to justify Nadarkhani's imprisonment in the face of growing International pressure and support for the Pastor.

Actor Michael J. Fox is paying attention to the elections. That's because he's a leading activist for stem cell research. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 and has concerns that some politicians are against stem cell research. He mentioned Rick Santorum

Santorum a vocal Christian has been clear about his position: that in fact, he does support stem cell research procedures, but only those that do not involve the destruction of a human embryo.

A group of Chinese writers, including the famous Han Han, are planning to sue Apple for providing the free downloading of their books from its App store without authorization. Some of the copyright infringements have been of best sellers, with complaints that the so-called pirating by Apple has cost the writers millions of dollars in lost earnings.

When Sidney Crosby returned in November from his nearly 11 month layoff due to a concussion, he gave a spectacular performance, as though he never left.This time he didn't get as involved physically; But still Pittsburgh defeated the Rangers 5-2. And The Toronto Maple Leaf 3-1 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning didn't do much for their Eastern Conference standings. The 12th place Leafs are still eight points back of the eighth-place Washington Capitals.

The New York Knicks made news for something other than Jeremy Lin. They have a new head coach. Mike D'Antoni resigned on Wednesday and his assistant, Mike Woodson, took over just before the Knicks were to play the Portland Trail Blazers

And the Knicks did do something special. They decimated Portland 121-79. Overall the Knicks made some good runs this season, especially after the emergence of point guard Jeremy Lin. But once lead scorer Carmelo Anthony returned from an injury, the chemistry was interrupted and the Knicks lost six in a row. Now the big question is, could they get it back on track for the playoffs.
