'Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders' Episode 2 Spoilers: The IRT Tracks Down UnSub In Mumbai
"Criminal Minds" second spin-off, "Beyond Borders" debuted on the small screen last Wednesday and according to reports, it did open up with a bang among viewers.
The report from Variety indicates that the show's opener raked in 8.65 million viewers but its solid start is yet to be tested when "Chicago PD," the police procedural TV series reigning high on the timeslot, returns with fresh episodes. Nevertheless, fans of "Criminal Minds" know full too well that the new feature will do better than the first cancelled offshoot show, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior."
Talking about the premiere, "The Harmful One" introduces the International Response Team (IRT), which was headed by Jack Garrett (Gary Sinise). It offered the viewers a glimpse on what the organization can do in order to save helpless American civilians being victimized in any parts of the globe. The first case was on Thailand were three volunteers went missing.
In Episode 2 titled "Harvested," the synopsis from the Futon Critic talks about a US citizen who wakes up with one of his kidneys harvested while his friend disappeared. The incident led the IRT to believe that the UnSub is working in some sort of a black market for human organ trade.
A sneak peek drops some hints at some of the challenges that Garrett and his team will face as they head to the populous city in India, Mumbai. The clip opens up with a big party where several young people appear to be having fun.
Monty ("Walking Dead" alum Tyler James Williams), IRT's resident tech analyst, explains to the team that youngsters suddenly "fell off the grid" days after they arrived in Mumbai.
Garrett meet up with the local operatives and they admit it to themselves that finding the missing teen is like "finding a needle in a haystack." Not to mention pinning down the culprits, who are probably being protected by the city's higher-ups.
Find out how these events unfold when "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" airs this Wednesday, Mar. 23 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
