'Criminal Minds' Season 11 News, Spoilers: Frances Fisher Guest-Stars in 'Creepy' Episode

Actress Frances Fisher, who famously played the role of Rose's (Kate Winslet) mother in "Titanic" (1997), is set to guest-star in an upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds."

Fisher will take on the role of deranged inmate Antonia Slade, TVLine has learned. According to the outlet, "Criminal Minds" showrunner Erica Messer explains that Slade is "a crazy UnSub who was put away by [Mandy Patinkin's] Jason Gideon 15 years ago."

Among Slade's crimes was the plot she and her husband set up, in which they created a runaway hotline to lure teenagers, who they then severely punished for misbehaving. According to Messer, the "very interesting" and "creepy" story has Slade getting the Behavioral Analysis Unit agents to see her in prison. The episode, which was written by Sharon Lee Watson, should also have the suspect's past come up in some manner.

"She's amazing," the "Criminal Minds" boss said about Fisher. "We've been wanting to work with Frances Fisher for years and it never worked out, and we're so glad it didn't, because she was made to be this UnSub for us."

Apart from "Titanic," Fisher has also appeared in the films "House of Sand and Fog" (2003), "The Lincoln Lawyer" (2011), and "The Host" (2013). Her next big screen outing will be in the western drama "Outlaws and Angels," which is due out this summer.

Fisher has appeared in various television shows over the last 40 years, with roles in "Resurrection," "Castle," "The Expanse," and "ER."

The episode in which Fisher guest-stars, titled "Devil's Backbone," is the penultimate episode for season 11. It was directed by Félix Enríquez Alcalá.

Before that, in episode 20, titled "Inner Beauty," the BAU will be hunting down an UnSUB who disfigures his victims. Meanwhile, Rossi (Joe Mantegna) will have an uncomfortable reunion with his ex, Hayden Montgomery, who has kept the existence of their daughter from him for almost three decades.

"Criminal Minds" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
