Cruise Neighbor Tased, Arrested for Drunkenness

A man found near Tom Cruise's home in Beverly Hills, California has been subdued with a stun gun before his arrest on Sunday night.

Police later realized that the prowling man was Cruise's neighbor, 41-year-old Jason Sullivan. The Beverly Hills resident was intoxicated and mistakenly entered Cruise's property.

Neither the actor nor his family was present at the home on Calle Vista Drive when the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., police said according to Yahoo News.

"Upon arrival, officers contacted lone male suspect who was attempting to leave the location. The suspect had been previously detained by a security officer, who as on duty at the residence and had observed the suspect climbing a fence to gain access to the property," the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement via the L.A. Times.

Sullivan was taken into custody for trespassing and was transported to a local hospital by Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics for injuries sustained from the stun gun, the L.A. Times has said.

Meanwhile, Cruise is preparing for the release of his new film "Jack Reacher."

The 50-year-old actor recently split from wife Katie Holmes, with whom he shares six-year-old daughter Suri. Cruise also shares children Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise with first ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Following the divorce, Cruise faced rumors about his parenting published in Life and Style magazine. In retaliation against the "vicious lie" claiming he had abandoned Suri, Cruise sought a $50 million lawsuit against the magazine, according to the New York Daily News.

Over the summer, Cruise was reportedly "sad, but not bitter" about his divorce from Holmes, according to TMZ. The actor was spotted spending time with Suri shortly after the couple's split.

Cruise agreed to pay "more than $10 million" in child support for his and Holmes' only child over a 12 year period, reported TMZ.

In addition to the child support, Cruise, who has an estimated $350 million fortune, also agreed to give Holmes sole custody of Suri on the condition that he was given visitation rights as part of the terms of their divorce settlement.
