Denver Broncos Roster Rumors 2016: NFL Investigating Peyton Manning Over HGH Allegation

An online news publication blew the whistle a few weeks ago, accusing several players from the NFL and other sports of using human growth hormone. One of the key figures to have been placed on the spotlight regarding the accusation is Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.

Although the talk about it has since been quashed by the excitement of the postseason, including the upcoming Super Bowl 50, the league won't go about its business without knowing the truth. That's why it was reported that it will be conducting a full investigation on the allegation, but it does not imply Manning is guilty.

According to multiple online reports, while there's been no official timetable for the investigation to complete, it certainly will be released after the Super Bowl 50 on Feb.7.

The publication responsible for the report is Al Jazeera, claiming last month that Manning's wife received a shipment comprising  a substantial amount of HGH coming from an anti-aging clinic based in Indianapolis. Aside from Manning, several other players in the league were also named.

After the issue broke out, Tom Condon, serving as Manning's agent, told reporters that Ashley (Manning's wife) did receive supplements that can be construed as human growth hormone. However, there are no further details beyond that, except for the fact that Manning admitted he is a patient of that clinic called Guyer Institute. The supposed source of the Al Jazeera report, Charlie Sly, is an intern pharmacist at the clinic, but after the issue became a trend, he unsurprisingly recanted his previous claims.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy meanwhile said that the investigation actually kicked off several weeks ago and that the league already started reviewing records, interviews, as well as working and coordinating with several other agencies that may in one way or another become involved.

Manning, for his part, is furious. "The allegation that I would do something like that is complete garbage and is totally made up," he said, visibly upset about the report.
