Depressed Goat Refuses to Eat for 6 Days After Separation From Donkey Friend - Watch Extraordinary Reunion (VIDEO)
A depressed goat is finally feeling back to normal after being reunited with his best friend, a donkey, after six days of separation. A video showing their heartwarming reunion has gone viral, showing that animals, too, form deep friendships and have sincere emotions.
The goat, named Mr. G, was taken to a sanctuary after being rescued from a hoarder's home in California, where there were numerous animals being kept in squalor. Once he arrived at Animal Place, he refused to eat for six full days, prompting his caretakers to be greatly concerned and wonder what was wrong.
"Mr. G refused to eat," the shelter wrote on its website. "He spent his days laying in a corner of his stall, barely lifting his head. Staff tried every treat – molasses, sweet grain, apples, wetting down food … nothing worked."

The staff eventually had to go into Mr. G's stall to move him so that he wouldn't get sores or start to have muscular atrophy from laying in one place for so long. After a veterinarian told the workers that Mr. G was depressed, a worker volunteered to go retrieve the donkey, named Jellybean, from another sanctuary. As soon as the truck carrying Jellybean arrived, Mr. G perked up and jumped out of his stall to meet his friend. Within 20 minutes, he was happily eating from Jellybean's bowl.
The animal sanctuary has decided not to place the friends up for adoption but let them remain at Animal Place where they can spend the rest of their days together.
"Their story will live on, inspiring and teaching visitors about nonhuman emotions," the site wrote.
