'Devil Wears Prada' Sequel Brings Revenge and Wedding Bells

A "Devil Wears Prada" sequel is on the way 10 years after the original book hit shelves in 2003, became a New York Times bestseller, and was turned into a very successful Hollywood movie of the same name in 2006.

The "Devil Wears Prada" sequel is being written by the original author, Lauren Weisberger, and it is set to be called "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns." The book is slated for release in April of 2013 by publishers Simon & Schuster, according to Entertainment Weekly.

With the sequel comes the return of old characters like Miranda Preistly, editor of the fictional Runway Magazine, Andrea "Andy" Sachs, who is now the editor of Plunge, a bridal publication, and her rival-turned-best-friend Emily. In addition is a new character, Max, will be Andy's love interest and fiancée.

The plot of "Revenge Wears Prada" manages to revisit the characters while in new positions. Taking place eight years after the first book, it sees Andy simultaneously editing for The Plunge bridal magazine and planning her wedding to Max, who is also in media. By her side is Emily, who works alongside her former rival at Runway.

With Andy coming into her own, Miranda Preistly will rear her impeccably-coiffed head again in their increasingly small world. Although it isn't explicitly stated how the two editors will interact, the word "Revenge" in the title means Andy and Miranda will butt heads again.

So far, there is no talk of a movie yet, but it didn't take long last time for the public to notice and a movie be made. Then, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, aand Stanley Tucci played the roles of Andy, Miranda, Emily, and Nigel, respectively, to much praise. Also, with only a $35 million budget, the film grossed over $325 million worldwide.
