Did Talk Show Host Frank Pastore Give Prophetic Message on Night of Accident?
A one-minute sound bite containing some chilling, perhaps prophetic words by popular Christian radio host Frank Pastore on the same night he was later critically injured in a motorcycle accident that left him in a coma has been released by radio station KKLA. Pastore remained in critical but stable condition Thursday, ten days after the accident, according to his wife, Gina.
The station, located in Glendale, Calif., made the audio recording of Pastore discussing the human soul on his show available earlier this week after Gina Pastore said that her husband would want the story of what happened on Nov. 19 told.
In the audio clip, Pastore says, "Isn't it interesting [that] secular science is addressing the question, 'Does man have a soul? Is there such a thing as immaterial reality?' And it's couched in the category of 'is there life after death?'
"I mean look, you guys know I ride a motorcycle don't you? So, at any moment, especially with the idiot people who cross the diamond lane into my lane, alright, without any blinkers, not that I'm angry about it, but at any minute I could be spread out all over the 210 (Freeway), but that's not me, that's my body parts. That key distinction undergirds the entire Judeo-Christian worldview and also your pursuit of reality."
Pastore was on his way home after the broadcast of "The Frank Pastore Show," his three-hour daily talk-radio program about social and political issues from a Christian perspective, when the accident occurred. He suffered major head injuries after his motorcycle was sideswiped by a car that swerved into the carpool lane of the 210 Freeway near Buena Vista Street in Duarte, said California Highway Patrol officials.
Evangelist and Harvest Christian Fellowship Pastor Greg Laurie, a good friend of Pastore and his family, told The Christian Post through email that he could not say if the talk show host's words that night were prophetic, but the two have had many previous conversations about heaven and the shortness of human life. Laurie lost his 33-year-old son, Christopher, as the result of a deadly car accident in 2008.
"It is amazing that Frank spoke so specifically about the fragility of life in his radio broadcast on the day of his accident and even the way he could potentially die," said Laurie. "If it was prophetic or not, I cannot say."
Laurie wrote that Pastore's main point during the show was that the soul lives on in eternity and that the believer goes to heaven when they leave this earth.
"Frank and I have had many conversations about heaven and the shortness of human life and the importance of living in the light of eternity in the aftermath of my son dying in 2008," Laurie said. "We talked about this at length both on and off the air. I can tell you that Frank has strong faith and a passion to glorify God with his life."
He told CP that he would like Gina Pastore and the rest of his family to know that "Frank is in my prayers."
"He is a dear brother in the Lord and has been a personal friend to me and to the Harvest Crusades as well," Laurie said. "I pray that God will intervene and touch and heal Frank, and that he will make a complete recovery.
"However, God is ultimately in control, and Frank would be the first to remind us of that. If the Lord calls Frank home to Heaven, I know he will hear the words, 'Well done good and faithful servant.'"
Gina Pastore remains optimistic for her husband's recovery and told CP Thursday that she is asking for continued prayer in hopes that he wake from the coma.
"We still have a strong sense that God is doing something. There are so many people praying and being touched by the story," she said.
