Dina Lohan Offers Parenting Advice to Bynes Family

Fresh off of her controversial appearance on "Dr. Phil," Dina Lohan has decided to play doctor herself and has offered Amanda Bynes' parents some advice as to how to deal with their daughter. Both Bynes and Lohan have been in trouble with the law on multiple occasions, giving their families something in common.

"You know, I'm a mother, and I feel that that's for her [Bynes'] mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself, so I really feel that's for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself," Lohan told Entertainment Tonight in a new interview.

"Just be around… It's hard when you're daughter's not, you know, over 18 and you want to let them go and they want to, you know, feel like they're in control of themselves. So it's a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she'll be okay," Lohan concluded.

Her own daughter currently faces the prospect of going back to jail after being involved in a hit-and-run, which is a direct violation of her parole. If found guilty, a judge could sentence her to serve over 200 days in jail.

Bynes, meanwhile, has gotten off easy compared to Lohan- a fact not lost on the redheaded starlet. Last week Lohan tweeted that it was not fair that Bynes was continually given a slap on the wrist and had not spent any time in jail, while she in contrast was continuously jailed several times.

To make matters worse, both girls' parents have been rather aloof and throughout their lives and especially during their legal struggles. The Lohan family has officially separated after a brutal divorce that pit father Michael against Dina, who has worked to remain in the spotlight, appearing in an unorthodox interview with Dr. Phil.

Meanwhile the Bynes family has allegedly sold their home and moved closer to Amanda in order to help keep her out of further trouble. They have remained relatively quiet throughout the ordeal.
