Apple, Roblox, LinkedIn: 12 mainstream contributors to sexual exploitation
The National Center on Sexual Exploitation has released its annual list of "mainstream contributors to sexual exploitation" — ranging from Big Tech giants to pieces of federal legislation.
NCOSE announced the 2024 "Dirty Dozen List" on Wednesday, which includes entities that the group says fail to undertake adequate efforts to better safeguard society from the harms of sexual exploitation.
Lina Nealon, NCOSE's vice president and director of corporate advocacy, said in a Zoom meeting Wednesday morning that she hopes that the list will foster positive change.

"This list names 12 mainstream institutions that facilitate, normalize, and often benefit from sexual exploitation," said Nealon. "And unfortunately, oftentimes through many forms of exploitation."
"This list is comprised of corporations, brands, organizations and agencies that you likely know and love; entities you may have even used today, either to send pictures to grandparents, purchase a gift for a friend, or to unwind listening to music."
Snapchat, which had been on the Dirty Dozen List in past years, was placed on NCOSE's "watchlist" this year after it made improvements to the app but did not implement enough protections for users, especially minors.
