Liam Matthews, who stars in the "God's Not Dead" follow-up film "Do You Believe," opened up about pros and cons of being a Christian in today's culture ahead of the film's release next month.

Headed to theaters on March 20, "Do You Believe" reveals real-life issues that Christians must confront in order to grow in their faith. The latest film from PureFlix arrives on the tail of the staggeringly successful "God's Not Dead" and emboldens Christians to be brave in their beliefs and unapologetically share their faith. In a very true-to-life role, Matthews portrays Bobby, a Christian EMT whose job is jeopardized after comforting a dying man with Scripture at the scene of an accident.

"I think especially in today's day and age, not to go the culture war route, but definitely, you have to be mindful with what you say, both as a Christian and an employee, "the actor told The Christian Post. "There are certain ways to go about discussing things. I do think that people will be able to relate to that, people have paid for being outspoken about their faith."

In "Do You Believe," Bobby is sued by a victim's wife for praying at the scene after exhausting emergency services. Bobby is forced to defend his decision to his supervisors as well as the court system, but courageously stands by his duty as a Christian to bring Jesus to the suffering man.

Despite the relatability of Bobby, Matthews found that playing his "Do You Believe" character was a challenge due to the different ways to practice evangelism.

"His boldness as far as being an evangelical was not a stretch for me, but I'm more of a quiet, show me by your actions type guy," said the actor. "When faced with this guy on screen, it was a challenge.

"It has a little something for everyone, especially in terms of grace and if you need grace or looking for grace," Matthews added.

Fortunately, "Do You Believe" has a lot to offer every type of Christian, as well as non-believers, this year.

"It has a little something for everyone, especially in terms of grace, and if you need grace or looking for grace," Matthews explained. "It's one of the greatest Christian films that you'll see."

"Do You Believe" also stars Sean Astin, Ted McGinley, Alexa PenaVega, and Andrea Logan White, among many others. The film hits theaters everywhere on March 20, and the trailer can be viewed here.
