Recycle your Bible

It’s been said that God doesn’t recycle — He redeems.

Still, there’s nothing in the Bible that explicitly rules out returning your copy of the Word to the Earth, especially if you’re a supporter of environmentally-friendly policies and believe the Earth and everything in it is the Lord’s. (Psalm 24:1)

Since this method of disposal closely resembles the act of simply throwing it into the trash, it’s recommended that you create a separate container like a box, wrapping, or bag to hold the Bible rather than merely tossing it.

But again, the simple act of throwing away a Bible — even for the noble purpose of recycling — holds such a negative connotation that it’s not recommended.
