'Dota 2' The Dueling Fates Releases This November
After months of eager anticipation, Valve has finally announced the release date of the upcoming "Dota 2" Dueling Fates update. After being teased at this year's The International, the update will finally arrive next month.
Since its trailer was unveiled back in August, Valve has been quite mum with regards to information on the update. Sure there it was revealed that two new heroes will make their way to the sprawling three-lane map but other than that, there wasn't much else.
Fortunately, the community won't have to wait in agony any longer as the update is only days away. Earlier this week, Valve posted the release date of the Dueling Fates update, also known as Patch 7.07, on their Twitter.
Slated for release on Nov. 1, the update comes just a few days following the conclusion of the first Major, ESL One Hamburg. The only thing to worry about now is what to do when it finally hits because if there's one thing "Dota 2" players can expect from Valve, it's that they tend to do the unexpected.
The game is now vastly different from its Warcraft 3 days with new items, skills, metas, and of course heroes. Even Roshan had to move the location of his pit twice in three years, something that was thought unthinkable at the time. Considering this fact, the community's unease is probably well-founded.
Unlike previous big patches, the Dueling Fates update will take place a full five months after the International allowing players to have ample time to adjust to the meta. Previously, Valve had an uncanny way of implementing massive updates on the eve of the event throwing strategies and metas in disarray. This time, however, with a more streamlined pro circuit where every tournament matters, such moves are unlikely to happen.
While the anticipation for the update's release is over, players still need to brace themselves for the patch notes when they come. With all-important TI points on the line, any player wanting a shot at Seattle need to adapt to what Valve has in store for "Dota 2."
