'Dragon Ball: Super' Season 1 Episode 55 Spoilers and Recap: Goku Meets New Best Friend? Character Details and What to Expect
After a weeklong delay of Dragon Ball Super: Episode 54, we finally saw Episode 55 -- and looks like everyone's favorite Super Saiyan, Son Goku, found a new best friend in Zen-Chan!
Quick recap (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
The episode, titled "I Want To Meet Son Goku: A Call From Zeno-Sama," showed Goku arriving at Planet Beerus after being called there. Beerus and Whis tell him to go to the Omni-King's planet, to which Goku initially hesitates. Beerus reminds him that the Omni-King could easily destroy the universe if Goku continued to act up.

However, it will take them two days to reach the planet, forcing them to go to Kaoshin, who has teleportation powers, for help. Beerus warns Goku not to mention the time machine or Black Goku to the God of Destruction, and to tell the King of the Kaoishin's whereabouts. Goku finds out that the two of them are interconnected: if one of them dies, the other goes as well.
The Kaoishin eventually brings Goku to the Omni-King's palace, who apparently wanted to be best buds with the hero. He insists that the two of them play together, and even tells Goku to call him Zen-Chan, to which Goku happily obliges.
He promised to return to the Omni-King's place and will even bring along a friend. Pleased, the King gives him a button that he can use to call him.
Meanwhile, the time machine is fixed, allowing Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks to go on their journey. However, Trunks notices Mai's cap lying around, but no Mai in sight. The episode ends with a group of attackers attacking Goku.
Zamasu and Gowasu, on the other hand, arrive in Babari planet, where the residents are killing each other. A barbarian attacks Zamasu, and he kills him, despite Gomasu's pleas. The Kaoishins then return to Universe 10, where Gomasu expressed his disappointment over Zamasu, and warns him that his actions could affect the future.
Episode 56: What to expect
With so much going on, Episode 56 looks doubly exciting and thrilling. A trailer of the upcoming episode teased the arrival of the trio in the ruined future city, where they are met by no less than Black Goku himself.
Meanwhile, a summary of the episode revealed that other forces threaten the heroes, as soldiers attack Goku, thinking he is Black himself. An extended trailer on the other hand showed the lost Mai being reunited with Trunks after all.
