Elder Scrolls Online Delayed to End of 2014 or Early 2015, Elder Scrolls Lore Books to Be Released
While Bethesda's "Elder Scrolls Online" has been released for the Windows PC April 4 earlier this year, the Playstation 4 and Xbox One ports are still awaiting release to the public. The next-gen console ports were originally scheduled for a June release this year but the company announced a six-month delay pushing the release to later this 2014 or early 2015.
The delay has somewhat disappointed fans especially with a December release date at the earliest. First developed for the PC, Bethesda revealed that the two next-gen consoles run on a completely different system which is complex to handle.
As such, the developers would need more time to ensure that the game will run smoothly on the console versions, thus the delay. Once the game has been tuned and playable on the consoles, only then will they be releasing it.

In the meantime, the company has urged players to play the PC version of the game while waiting for the console versions. Bethesda has added that players will be able to transfer their save files from the PC to the consoles. In addition to transferability, players who own the PC version of the game will be given a discount when they purchase the console version.
Bethesda has also announced that they will be releasing two series of Elder Scrolls Lore Books. The first book is "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tales of Tamriel" and the second is "The Elder Scrolls V: The Skyrim Library."
There will be five volumes in total, two for "Tales of Tamriel": Volume 1, The Land, and Volume 2, The Lore. Three will be for the Skyrim Library: Volume 1, The Histories, Volume 2, Man, Mer and Beast, and Volume 3, The Arcane.
Essentially, the books will be a collection of all in-game text from both The Elder Scrolls Online and Skyrim in addition to concept art.
