Election 2020: Who is leading in the polls, Biden or Trump?

The election polling site FiveThirtyEight took an average of national polls regarding Biden and Trump, with the Democratic challenger besting the Republican incumbent in support.

In findings accessed Tuesday, FiveThirtyEight found that Biden was leading with 50.6% of the vote, with Trump having 43.1% of the vote as of Tuesday, Sept. 8.

FiveThirtyEight has been keeping track of polls on the two candidates since at least March, with Biden having been in the lead during that entire time period.

The 7.5 percentage point lead that Biden holds over Trump is not the highest he has had, as at various times in the summer, Biden has had a lead as high as 9.6 percentage points.
