ESPY Nominees Hate on Tim Tebow for Winning Award?

Tim Tebow may have been honored for having the "Best Moment" at the 2012 ESPY awards this past Wednesday, but some nominees have expressed disappointment in the New York Jets QB's win.

While the Tampa Bay Rays were nominated in the "Best Moment" category after they beat the New York Yankees in dramatic fashion during the regular season last year, the team tweeted about Tebow's win in a sarcastic way.

"To be fair about ESPYs," @RaysBaseball tweeted, "Tim Tebow hardly ever gets mentioned on ESPN so it was nice to see him finally get recognized. #Game162wasbetter."

However, the Rays were not the only nominees disappointed with the outcome of the ESPY awards. Derrick Salberg, a junior college baseball player whose unique catch caught the attention of ESPN, complained both about his loss and the NFL player.

"Now I gotta listen to Tebow talk," he tweeted.

Still, Tebow got his opportunity to speak after winning the honor Wednesday night.

"First of all I just want to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Tebow said. "...I also want to congratulate and thank all of my old teammates take care of them Peyton. When we were 1-4 not many people gave us a chance last year. We believed in each other, we believed in ourselves and we tried to make something special happen. When you put in a lot of hard work special things can happen."

The 24-year-old QB won the award for the "Best Moment" of the year for an overtime pass that helped his former Denver Broncos team defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in a playoffs game last season.

Tebow also took to his Twitter account to thank his fans for voting for the honor.

"Thanks to everyone that voted for me and @DemaryiusT for the ESPY," he tweeted. "Definitely a moment that I will always cherish."
