'Fast and Furious 8' News: Production Hiring Crew for Cleveland Shoot?

As "Fast and Furious 8" prepares for the early stages of production, it has recently been reported that the film is looking for locals who would like to be part of the crew for the Cleveland shoot.

According to Cleveland News, a posting on the Greater Cleveland Film Commission's jobs page says the film's second unit is now hiring vendors and local crew "for its upcoming Cleveland shoot," confirming previous rumors that the team will be crashing into Ohio.

A source has also told the outlet that IATSE Local 209 has been contacted for the purpose of acquiring additional crew who will work with the rest of the crew. The said union is composed of makeup experts, hairstylists, and electricians among others.

While the said report is not official and the commission's president refused to comment on the news, it is expected that official confirmation will be given in the next few weeks. It is also unclear when shooting will start or how long production will stay in the area.

Meanwhile, rumors are circling around the new cast members who will join the indomitable group of car-racing heroes. One of the most recent names being acquainted with the film is Lucas Black.

Rumor has it that he will be replacing Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner as the right man and best friend of Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto. While Black has appeared in the 7th installment of the franchise for a cameo, there is no official word regarding his appearance or addition to the upcoming movie's cast.

Another name rumored to appear in the upcoming film is Justin Bieber. The singing sensation has performed in cameo appearances for several films and though the news' authenticity has yet to be confirmed, some fans are excited to see him enter the drag racing world.

As for the debate regarding Walker's character and the possibility of seeing the deceased actor relived in the eighth installment, it seems fans won't see Brian anymore. Multiple outlets reported earlier that Cody Walker, the late actor's brother who stepped in for some of the beloved actor's scenes, won't return to recreate Walker's role.

"Fast and Furious 8" will hit big screens on April 14, 2017.
