'Fear The Walking Dead' Cast News: Find Out Who's Joining For Season 2
The pieces are starting to fall into place as "Fear The Walking Dead," AMC's companion series to its hit zombie show "The Walking Dead," gets ready to roll out the highly anticipated Season 2.
In the past few days, a handful of casting news recently revealed a couple of new actors confirmed to join FTWD for its new installment.
First off, Deadline.com announced that actor Arturo Del Puerto has signed for a recurring role as Carlos – a character "who's guarded but possesses a spiritual understanding of the world."
Puerto's recent small screen involvement includes FX's pilot "Snowfall," while on the big screen, he appeared in the Kevin Hart-starred action-comedy, "Ride Along 2." Next up, he can be seen in the upcoming "Independence Day: Resurgence."
TVLine, meanwhile, shared this week the news indicating actor Dougray Scott also landing a recurring role for FTWD Season 2.
A representative for the network confirmed the casting to the media outlet but declined to further give additional information about his role.
However, it is said that the 50-year-old could be playing the role of Casey, a character that was mentioned in a previous casting breakdown as a "decent man who believes in civility" and is "confident in an unexpected position of authority."
Casey is further described to be a family man but is still on his way to learning the ways of being a leader.
"He regrets but accepts the necessary violence for a new vision," TVLine wrote.
Scott is well known for his roles in blockbuster films like "Taken 3," "Hitman," and "Mission: Impossible II."
Scott and Puerto will join series regulars Kim Dickens as Madison Clarke; Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa; Frank Dillane as Nick Clark; Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark; Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris Manawa; Ruben Blades as Daniel Salazar; Mercedes Mason as Ofelia Salazar; and Colman Domingo as Victor Strand.
"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 2 premieres Sunday, April 10. The second half of the season, meanwhile, will air "later in 2016."
