'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2 Cast News: Dougray Scott And Veronica Diaz Join Season 2 Cast

"Fear The Walking Dead," the well-received "The Walking Dead" prequel/spinoff that aired its first six-episode run in 2015, will be back in a couple of months with some fresh faces rounding out its original cast.

According to TVLine, Scottish actor Dougray Scott has signed on for an undisclosed recurring role in AMC's zombie apocalypse series. Though a representative for the network would not provide details about the casting, the website suggests that Scott could play the role of Casey, who was recently described as "a decent man who believes in civility." Though the character is said to be "confident in an unexpected position of authority," he is also "still learning to be a leader." Casey "regrets but accepts the necessary violence for a new vision," TVLine has learned.

The 50-year-old actor has previously appeared in TV series "Hemlock Grove," "Father & Son," "Desperate Housewives," and "Heist." He has also starred in numerous films, including "Last Passenger" (2013), "The Truth About Love" (2005), "Mission: Impossible II" (2000), and "Ever After: A Cinderella Story" (1998).

Veronica Diaz is also set to join "Fear The Walking Dead" for its second run. Diaz will play the recurring role of Vanessa, which Deadline describes as "smart and deceptive, with a look of innocence, someone who throws herself into her work with reckless abandon."

The actress/producer has appeared in TV series "Complications," "Criminal Minds," "Cold Case," and "The Hustle." Diaz has also appeared in a number of films, including "Taco Shop" (2016), "Mamitas" (2011), and "Blaze You Out" (2013). She will be in the upcoming drama film "Behold My Heart" with Marisa Tomei, Timothy Olyphant, and Charlie Plummer.

The second season of "Fear The Walking Dead" will consist of 15 episodes split into two parts. The first half will begin airing on Sunday, April 10, at 9/8c on AMC. The second half will air later in the year.
