'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 2 Plot News: Production Begins

The second season of "The Walking Dead" companion series titled "Fear the Walking Dead" is reportedly on its way.

It was revealed by AMC that production for "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 had already begun. It seems as though the series will be shaking things up as it was revealed that the upcoming season will be taking place in the ocean.

According to AMC, the series is currently filming in Baja Studios, Mexico. It was revealed that this is the same studio where "Titanic" was filmed. According to Variety, co-creator of the series Dave Erickson stated, "We are thrilled to be starting production and even more thrilled to be shooting in Mexico. Baja Studios has been home to some of the greatest ocean-set films in recent years and provides all the creative resources we need to begin this new chapter in the 'Fear' saga. We couldn't be happier."

The characters of the first season as expected to reprise their roles, Cliff Curtis as Travis, Kim Dickens as Madison, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Frank Dillane as Nick, and Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris. It was said that they will be continuing their story as they take on a yacht belonging to Strand, played by Colman Domingo.

The new setting is expected to explore new ideas for the series. Co-creator Robert Kirkman recently shared some details about the season. He stated, "Just because it's going to be taking place on the boat doesn't mean it's going to be taking place on the boat all the time. There's a lot of reason to get off the boat."

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 is expected to premiere in the summer of 2016. Meanwhile, fans can revisit the first season of the series, as it will be available on Hulu this Jan. 26.
