Federal Judge Finds Iran Also Responsible for 9/11
A U.S. District Court judge declared on Thursday that he plans to issue a ruling in the near future stating that Iran is partially responsible for the attacks on Sept. 11.
Lawyers representing the families of victims of 9/11 accused the Iranian defendants, including Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, of aiding the 9/11 terrorists.
“The extensive record submitted to this court, including fact witnesses and expert testimony, is satisfactory to this court,” Judge George Daniels said, according to The Daily Caller.

The plaintiffs presented various evidence to the court that suggests Iran had prior knowledge of the 2001 attacks. Daniels found the evidence to be substantial. The court “accepts as true” the allegations of the plaintiffs and their experts, he declared, as reported by The Daily Caller. He stated that he will issue an order in the coming days stating that Iran is responsible for providing material support to the terrorists.
The plaintiffs provided evidence that suggests senior Hezbollah fighter, Imad Mughnyeh, who was killed in 2008, acted as the link between Iran and al-Qaida. He reportedly met with Osama bin Laden in the early 1990s and taught him the strategy of suicide attacks.
The defendants did not appear in court and were not represented in the lawsuit. It is not certain how the plaintiffs will collect damages or what effect this will have on them, if any.
To some, including Director of the Center for Research on Globalization Michel Chossudovsky, declaring Iran guilty of aiding in 9/11 is “nothing but a ploy,” he told Russia Today.
“We are dealing with fabrications whereby a war agenda, which has been on the Pentagon’s drawing board for many years, is now seeking justification to go live [in Iran] – and we’ve seen the drone attacks, we’ve seen the sanctions,” said Chossudovsky.
However, the supposed Iranian complicity in the 9/11 attacks is an unsurprising revelation for many who are skeptical of Iran’s global intentions. For others, it was an emotional closure.
Ellen Saracini, whose late husband Victor was at the controls of United Airlines Flight 175 that fatal day, called Thursday a “historic day,” according to The Daily Caller, because a U.S. court finally found Iran responsible for the attacks.
“When I heard the verdict, I just smiled up to Victor and said, ‘We’re still thinking about you up there.’”
