'Fifty Shades Darker' Spoilers: New Character Mrs. Robinson Cast
A new character has just been recently cast for the upcoming installment of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" series.
News about a new character for the movie was finally revealed by the author of the series, E.L. James, herself. She shared an article by Variety, which revealed that Kim Basinger will be taking on the role of Elena Lincoln, also known as the Mrs. Robinson in the upcoming film.
With that, fans can expect some tension between Mrs. Robinson and Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson. It was stated that the two will not like each other since Mrs. Robinson is known to be Christian Grey's, played by Jaime Dornan, former love interest. Fans of the book will be aware that Mrs. Robinson was the first woman that Christian was ever intimate with.

Aside from the new character, it was revealed that other stars will be returning to the series, which include Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, and Max Martini.
The movie has been dealing with several delays due to budget constraints and executive problems. It was previously announced that the upcoming installment will begin filming in Vancouver on Feb. 9. However, recent reports revealed that it was, once again, delayed until a week later. However, the franchise will film "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed" back-to-back.
Despite the problems faced by the franchise, the film's star, Dakota Johnson, recently spoke to Vogue UK about her excitement. She stated, "I'm proud of 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' I don't need to distance myself from that. The more work I do, the more the general public sees the different things I can do. Do I think it opened doors? Yeah. More people know my name."
"Fifty Shades Darker" is expected to hit theaters on Feb. 10, 2017, while "Fifty Shades Freed" will premiere a year after.
