'Fire Emblem Warriors' Free Japanese Voice Pack Announced

Nintendo has announced that English language copies of "Fire Emblem Warriors" will be getting a Japanese-language voice pack update to be released on Oct. 20. The voice pack will be free to download for all players allowing them to choose between English and Japanese voice options.

The inclusion of the Japanese voice packs was announced via the game's launch trailer. Prior to this, however, fans had very little hope that the game will support dual audio.

For a time, there has been some confusion regarding the game's dual-audio status in the run-up to its release. Nintendo has always implied, if not outright stated, that English copies of the game will only support English audio despite the fact that English and Japanese voice tracks have consistently been accessible in-game at numerous pre-release events.

Thankfully though, Nintendo of America has parted the mists of confusion and for the better too by announcing a Japanese voice pack for English copies of "Fire Emblem Warriors." It will be available as a separate update which players need to download in order to use the feature. Even better for fans, they gave it away free of charge instead of opting to pass it off as premium DLC (downloadable content).

And speaking of DLC, the game will have three DLC packs, which will be released in December 2017, February 2018, and March 2018. Each DLC pack will include three playable characters, three new History scenarios, new weapons and costumes, and new support conversations.

The first pack will focus on content from "Fire Emblem Fates," the second on "Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon," and the third on "Fire Emblem Awakening." Players can buy these packs for $8.99 each or pick up a season pass containing all three as well as a bonus bridal costume for Lucina for $19.99.

"Fire Emblem Warriors" is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and New Nintendo 3DS.
