Former 'Bachelor' Contestant Dead After Apparent Suicide Attempt
The "Bachelor" has taken many ladies to different rides in life, while giving a few the chance to find love in television, but recently, tragedy has once again hit the franchise after Lex McAllister died after an apparent suicide attempt.
According to People, McAllister was taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus but died on Tuesday after her health worsened. While she was in stable condition upon arriving at the hospital, her health declined and her death marked the second suicide from "Bachelor" alums who competed in 2010.
Police records reveal that a 911 received a call from someone who received a text from McAllister, with the latter threatening to kill herself. Empty prescription bottles were found at McAllister's home, and though she was able to regain consciousness at some point, she had no time to tell the medical crew what medication she overdosed on.

The 31-year-old was among the contestants who tried to win Jake Pavelka's heart in 2010, though she didn't get a rose after the first week.
A source reportedly told Entertainment Tonight that McAllister was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and she recently got divorced, though the "Bachelor" alum showed a positive outlook on life for 2016. In a post on Instagram last month, she thanked the people who made her life feel good.
"Bachelorette" alum Jesse Csincsak told the outlet that McAllister will be missed. "Lex was a great person, very outgoing and charismatic," she said of her friend.
The hit ABC reality show also expressed their condolences for McAllister's family in an official statement. "In the short time that we knew Lex, she was a lovely person inside and out. She will be missed by the entire Bachelor family, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends," the statement said.
McAllister is the second alum from "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" who died from an apparent suicide attempt. Gia Allemand hanged herself in 2013 in her home when she was 29 years old and passed away two days after the incident.
