Galaxy Note 2 vs. Sony Xperia Z: War of the Phablets
The Galaxy Note 2 vs. Sony Xperia Z starts another chapter in the war of the phablets.
Sony appears to be venturing into a market which Samsung created with its original Note model in 2011.
The new Sony Xperia Z debuted at this year's Consumer Electronics Show alongside the Xperia ZL. Both sport some impressive specs powerful enough to take on Samsung's Galaxy Note 2.

The Xperia Z comes with a full high-definition 1080p display that measures in at 5 inches. Although slightly smaller than the screen found on the Galaxy Note 2, the Xperia Z's display packs a higher rate of resolution, making it more appealing to consumers looking for the full HD experience.
However, the Galaxy Note 2 has a bit of advantage due to its screen measuring in at 5.5-inches. The phablet's ability to feature a fairly large screen and still be compact enough to fit in a jacket pocket is quite unique.
The Sony Xperia Z also has a 13-megapixel camera while the Galaxy Note 2 comes with an 8-megapixel shooter. Sony's device comes dust and water resistant as well and has 4G LTE, allowing it to match up to the Galaxy Note 2 with connectivity.
Both devices possess quad-core processors which allow for efficient multi-tasking. The Note 2 packs a quad-core 1.6GHz Exynos processor while the Xperia Z comes with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor. Both of these devices also pack 2GB RAM. In terms of speed, the Xperia Z and Galaxy Note 2 could be close to being equal.
One last advantage the Galaxy Note 2 has over most phablet competitors is its trademarked S Pen accessory. The S Pen makes for a good companion for users of the Note and also provides them with custom apps only found on the hybrid device.
