Galaxy S2 Software Update Available on T-Mobile

The Samsung Galaxy S2 now has a software update available for T-Mobile customers.

This new update will bring Galaxy S2s running Android 4.0 to Android 4.0.4. It is only 11MB and can be accessed OTA (over-the-air) or through Samsung KIES software.

The update also brings some security enhancements with it along with a few tweaks and updates related to the Qualcomm processor. Vlingo S Voice will be improved, and most of the details of this update can be found in T-Mobile support forums. The next logical update for the Galaxy S2 is Android 4.1, JellyBean and that should be coming soon as it has already started rolling out in other countries.

The Galaxy S2 Android 4.1, JellyBean update finally starting rolling out this week.

The software upgrade is now available in Spain and should reach other countries in the near future.

This update is different from the ROM that was leaked a few months back and runs JellyBean with a January 2013 build date.

JellyBean brings the new TouchWiz Nature UI to the Galaxy S2, finally updating Samsung's old version that has been on the smartphone since its launch in 2011.

Performance improvements such as expandable and actionable notifications and Google Now are also now available with the software update.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus with Android 4.1.2, JellyBean pre-installed was confirmed for release earlier this month.

Samsung will launch the beefed up version of its wildly popular handset in the near future and it will come with Android 4.1.2, JellyBean out of the box.

The device will be powered by a Broadcom chipset with a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM. It will also come with the same WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen as the original Galaxy S2 that launched in 2011.
