'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 News, Spoilers: Liam Cunningham On Crazy Fan Theories, The Problem With Being Too Likeable
With just days to go before HBO finally airs the long-awaited sixth season premiere of its popular fantasy drama series, "Game of Thrones," almost a year's worth of fan theories are about to be proven true or false and the raging forum debates are about to be settled.
Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth aka The Onion Knight in "Game of Thrones," recently spoke to Yahoo! TV about the craziest fan theory he has heard about his character's storyline. As expected, the theory involves the much-speculated-upon fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who was betrayed and stabbed by his Sworn Brothers of the Night's Watch and presumed dead at the end of the season 5 finale.
"Some fans are assuming that I'm going to kill Jon Snow's direwolf, Ghost," Cunningham said. "They tried to decipher that from the trailer. I'm thinking, 'You're really stretching your imagination there!'" he said with a laugh.

The actor also spoke about how his character acts as a sort of moral compass in the show. See Davos, who is truthful and loyal almost to a fault, seems to be the exception in a world filled with evil and unscrupulous characters. However, being too nice does have its perils, the actor told the website.
"What worries me is that when the audience really likes someone, the writers are like: 'Let's kill him!'" he said. "So I don't want to be liked too much; they'll come in with the axe."
Speaking of likeable characters, Lena Headey, who plays Cersei, one of the least liked characters in the series, has hinted at what her character will be up to when the new season debuts. According to Headey, Cersei, a survivor, will be "at her scheming best" this year.
"I can't say anything," the actress told Yahoo! about the new season, "but it genuinely is the most ferocious and exciting that it's ever been."
The sixth season of "Game of Thrones" debuts on Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
