Gia Allemand, Ryan Anderson's Girlfriend and Former 'Bachelor' Star, Hospitalized

Gia Allemand, girlfriend of New Orleans Pelican player Ryan Anderson and former "Bachelor" season 14 contestant, has been hospitalized. Her condition is said to be serious, but details have not yet been released.

A representative of Allemand released a brief statement after she was hospitalized.

"On behalf of the family, we kindly ask for privacy at this time. Further statements will be released as more information becomes available," the statement said.

Her representative later tweeted, offering concerned fans a promise of more information to come. The rep also asked for prayers from fans.

"Understand everyone has questions about #GiaAllemand – another statement is pending for tomorrow…Prayers pls," he tweeted.

Though little information has been released, health and beauty expert Melinda Farina, a close friend of Allemand's, tweeted some details of just how serious Allemand's condition is.

"@GiaAllemand is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing ..cause unknown ..next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone" Farina tweeted.

Farina later tweeted about her personal grief and worry for her friend.

"I'm so sad about my best friend right now...how could this have happened to such an incredible person..she needs to come out of it!" she wrote.

The former "Bachelor" contestant is being treated at University Hospital in New Orleans. She has been there since Monday, Aug. 12. Her boyfriend Ryan Anderson and her mother are with her at the hospital, Fox News reported.

Former "Bachelor" stars have taken to Twitter to call for support of the ailing Allemand.

"Please pray for@GiaAllemand... A dear friend and one of the sweetest women I know... #powerofprayer." Jake Pavelka wrote.

And Ali Fedotowsky wrote, "Please keep @GiaAllemand in your thoughts today. She's in critical condition. That's all I know. Love you Gia," on the social media site.
