God Inspired World Series Game, Says Texas Rangers' Josh Hamilton
Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers’ all-star outfielder, said God spoke to him during game six of the World Series.
Although the Rangers’ were not able to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals in game six, Hamilton managed to hit a home run in the 10th inning at Busch Stadium. The outfielder said that God revealed that he would hit the homer that gave the Rangers a momentary lead in the 10th.
Hamilton, who has been playing, while injured during the postseason, said God took over for him when he walked up to the plate.

"He told me, 'You haven't hit one in a while, and this is the time you're going to,'" Hamilton said, according to ESPN.
"You know what? I probably had the most relaxed, peaceful at-bat I've had of the whole series at that moment. It's pretty cool. You ought to try it sometime," he added.
Before hitting the homer, Hamilton hit 65 at-bats and no home run in the postseason. However, Hamilton said he ran through the pain after hitting his first after the regular season.
"This hurts, this hurts, this hurts, this hurts," Hamilton said. "That's probably the slowest I've ever run the bases after hitting a home run. I didn't hear the crowd. I didn't hear anything. I just saw my teammates at the plate, the reaction from the dugout."
Although Hamilton insists that a higher power spoke to him, ESPN reported he heard a message involving a home run, not a team win.
"There was a period at the end of [the sentence]," Hamilton said. "He didn't say, 'You're going to hit it and you're going to win.'"
Hamilton was not the only person to experience a divine experience during game six of the World Series. Lance Berkman, Cardinals’ first baseman, compared his tying hit in the 10th inning to Lazarus from The Holy Bible in ESPN reports.
"It's just an exhilarating feeling," Berkman said. "You're like Lazarus. You're back from the dead."
The two sides will face off for the last time this season in Game seven of the World Series Friday at 8:05 p.m. EST.
