Google Nexus 7 32GB Model Available at Staples?

The Google Nexus 7 32 GB model has once again made an appearance showing up on the Staples Advantage website for business customers.

The listing was reported by AndroidPolice earlier today where it can be found for purchase at $250. The tablet will be available on Oct. 18, according to the site.

The device is priced slightly less than the 16GB model showing that the 32GB version might be its permanent replacement.

The device was also recently discovered in a listing at a Carphone Warehouse store in the U.K. Shortly after it was found, a few Droid Life readers reported that they found the tablet in the retailer's purchasing system.

The device was priced at $259.92 and the reader also reported that his reseller is expecting shipments of the 32GB Nexus 7 sometime around Oct. 24 and called it a "special model."

Google could be releasing this version in order to better compete with the new Amazon Kindle Fire HD and the next-generation Nook tablet.

Google also might be releasing a $99 Nexus tablet in the near future, according to a recent report.

NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shym stated that the device will enter production in December this week.

This $99 version of the wildly popular tablet was first mentioned in DigiTimes. However, Asus, the company that is expected to manufacture the device, has denied those claims, so this rumor should be taken with a grain of salt.

The tablet received a software update last week, bumping it up to Android 4.1.2 JellyBean.

Google began rolling it out last week and also released screenshots displaying the new software running on the device.

Android 4.1.2 brings the rotation ability to the homescreen and is expected to improve performance significantly from Android 4.1.1. It also has a smoother user interface, fixes various bugs, makes device functions more stable, and features new versions of the Google Play store, Google Play Music, and Google Play Magazines.
