Google Nexus Tablet to Feature Tegra 3 Chip and Android 5.0?

New details have emerged regarding the upcoming Google Nexus tablet that reveal some of the specifications for the device.

A source close to the situation recently spoke to YouMobile and told the site that the tablet will feature a Tegra 3 Quad-core processor. Another interesting feature rumored for the device was Android 5.0, JellyBean coming pre-installed on it.

The Nexus line was used to launch Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich last year with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The company is expected to use the same strategy with its next-generation software and this tablet could be one of the first devices to have it.

The tablet will feature a 7-inch display, however it may have a different name when it is launched, according to the source.

The report said that Google might drop the "Nexus" name and go with something else.

ASUS will build the tablet and Google might give one of these devices away to each person that attends the Google I/O 2012 event on June 27. The company normally does this at its I/O events.

The Google Nexus tablet is expected to ship in July. Its price will start from $299, which will help it compete with other 7-inch lower-end tablets including the Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble Nook.

Google is expected to partner up with various manufacturers in order to launch Android 5.0, JellyBean. This ASUS-made tablet should be one of the first to have it, but The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that there should be around five smartphone/tablet makers who help to launch the software when it rolls out.

The publication stated that there will be about five new Nexus devices with JellyBean pre-installed launching by Thanksgiving this year.
